Brilliant Bilingual

Brilliant Bilingual is an Atlanta-based language school led by founder and professor Dr. Catrice Barrett. Known for its after-school programs and summer camps, the institute saw an opportunity to grow by expanding its online services to the adult market. To ensure the business would reach its new target market, a full rebrand was needed.

During the brand’s development and positioning process, we explored the school’s unique position as a local institution (as opposed to most language “schools” such as Duolingo and Babbel), giving us the opportunity to foster a sense of community and human connection through the identity and strategy. With the new visual approach, a sense of friendliness and approachability is evident in the paper-cut style, font choice, and vivid color that permeates the institute’s communication outlets. The style is also flexible, allowing for content to be produced quickly for adults or for kids while maintaining the brand’s consistency and overall tone.

Located in Southside Atlanta, the school is the only language service offered to the area. Dr. Barrett’s idea of bringing this essential service to her overlooked community became a big part of the re-brand process, leading to multiple meetings to discuss branding and marketing strategies that would expand on the school’s resourceful, welcoming, and warm community-minded attitude.

Endless possibilities.

The logo balances maturity and a child-like sensibility such that it can be explored and implemented into the brand in various ways. The logo was also designed to be flexible and easy to use, allowing it to be used with ease throughout the brand’s touchpoints.
